At Oranga School, we know that children learn best when they are at school, connected, and engaged in learning every day.
Regular attendance plays a vital role in helping our tamariki build strong relationships, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
We understand that every whānau’s circumstances are different. That’s why we work closely alongside families to understand any barriers that may be affecting attendance and to find practical, supportive solutions together.
The Government has set a national goal of 80% regular attendance by 2030. At Oranga School, our Board has committed to increasing regular attendance to 70% by the end of 2026. More importantly, we are committed to ensuring every child feels a strong sense of belonging and is excited to come to school each day.
